Cardo™ - Edge Product line

Cardo has pioneered headset communication for motorcycles, allowing bike-to-bike communication and enriching the experience of group rides. Cardo is a unique example of an Israeli high-tech company that operates in a competitive consumer category and achieves market leadership through introduction of advanced technologies.

Challenge

Cardo asked I2D to design the Edge, their premium and most advanced product. The challenge was to develop a superior and distinct design. The broader goal was to develop the basis for a consistent design language to enhance brand identity, quality perception and establish Cardo as a leader in the category.

Design

I2D developed a distinct and restrained design for the Edge. The overall reduction of excess shapes highlights Cardo’s distinctive design features. A bold frame wraps around the product, achieving a very thin profile and emphasizing the dynamic wedge shape. The antenna, buttons, roller, and connectors are fully integrated to create a clean and sophisticated look.

Solutions

Air mount,’ a novel seamless magnetic mounting solution, was developed. By simply placing the unit near the helmet, it securely mounts with a simple snap. This unique feature provides an enhanced sense of quality, differentiation, and an improved user experience.
